ANNUAL & WELLNESS EXAMS
We offer wellness  exams on everything from new kittens and puppies,  to newly adopted pets, as well as the ones that are already family members.

Annual exams are very important for our pets for updating vaccine records & staying on top of any changing health needs as pets age.

We didn't forget about exotic pets!! We neuter & trim teeth on bunnies, trim wings & nails on birds, and vaccinate ferrets!

Annual exams are required to continue prescribing medications.

VACCINATIONS

We believe vaccines are a very important part of our preventative medicine protocol.

We recommend that puppies & kittens start their vaccine series around 8 weeks old & continue getting  vaccines until 4 months.

Adult animals should receive the recommended vaccines at their yearly exams.

Vaccinations also protect our large animals from diseases that could negatively effect the health of the entire herd. A few such vaccines are the Bangs vaccine in cattle, CDT vaccine in goats/sheep, & 5-way/wnv & Strangles vaccines in horses.

Vaccines are a simple way to protect our animals & ensure they live a long, healthy life with us.

MEET OUR
STAFF

North Palouse Vet Clinic has been serving the small and large animal needs of Potlatch, Palouse... and the surrounding Palouse region for over 40 years.  Although technology & techniques have changed over the years, our passion for providing your animals with the very best care has not. Our primary goal and core value is to provide you information about your animal and to treat your pets and animals with the care that you have come to expect from our clinic.

Dr. Shari Carnahan has been the owner of NPVC since 2004. She graduated from WSU in 1996, & has been practicing small and large animal veterinary medicine at NPVC since 1998. She obtained a mobile equine dentistry trailer & upgraded her training in equine dentistry to provide our equine patients the very best care. Her favorite things to do at the clinic are to connect and build relationships with her clients, and to do surgeries. When she's not at the clinic, Shari is hanging with her kids, watching them play sports, traveling, skiing, scrapbooking, or enjoying photography.

Dr. Jill Quaade has been a veterinarian at NPVC since 2005. She graduated from WSU in 2002, worked 3 years at emergency clinics then joined NPVC. She enjoys medical cases where she is able to provide life sustaining treatments and promote quality of life in both her patients and their families. When she's not at the clinic, Jill is homeschooling her 4 children, running a non-profit that benefits impoverished children in Ethiopia, hiking, biking, & hanging out with her family.

Alyssa has been a receptionist at NPVC since 2019. She enjoys interacting with owners and making sure all their questions and concerns are answered with a friendly smile to invite a welcoming environment within the clinic. One of her favorite highlights is knowing that every day she'll be helping animals around the community and working with amazing clients. Outside of the clinic she loves spending time with her husband and three sons. Together they are often enjoying the outdoors, playing sports, camping, fishing, and riding their side by side.

Cassie has been a receptionist at NPVC since November of 2018. She plays an important role in keeping the clinic a welcoming place for both the pets and their owners. Her favorite hobbies include spending time with her husband and children in the outdoors by fishing, camping, hunting, and hiking.

Robin has been a certified veterinary technician at NPVC since March of 2017. She started working in veterinary medicine in 1994 in Norman, Oklahoma and received her degree in Veterinary Technology (CVT) from Oklahoma State University in 2006. She loves working with a variety of species, from cats and dogs, to exotics, large animals, and wildlife rehab. At the clinic, she enjoys helping with client education and assisting with c-sections. In her free time, she is pursuing her bachelors degree in animal behavior & wildlife rehabilitation, and enjoys camping, fishing, hiking, watching football, and gardening.
